Presto acquires First-8 – Denmark’s leading first-aid training and equipment specialist
First-8 services and inspects defibrillators and fire and first-aid equipment throughout Denmark. Of the 250,000 first-aid training certificates issued in Denmark every year, First-8 is responsible for processing 10 percent of them.
“First-8 is a fast-growing gazelle company that enjoys a strong position in the Danish market”, says Filip Bjurström.
First-8 was founded by Anders Kjærsgaard and Mark Nilsson in 2015. Presto has now bought 100 percent of the shares in First-8 Aps that were owned by the founders. Anders and Mark will continue to lead the company and work on developing its e-commerce platform and business in Denmark.
“Today, First-8's e-commerce also sells defibrillators to France, Spain and Italy. The logistics center is located in Aarhus in Jutland, from where products can reach all of Europe in two days. We are delighted that Mark and Anders view Presto as a great collaborative partner, and that they are keen to continue developing the e-commerce platform and operations in Denmark”, says Filip Bjurström.
First-8 has offices in Copenhagen and Århus. Now Filip Bjurström is looking forward to welcoming the company’s 11 employees and 50 freelance instructors to the Presto family.
“This deal establishes Presto in the Danish market and gives us a platform for further growth in Denmark – including the fire safety sector. It also gives us an e-commerce platform that can be scaled in several countries”, he says, adding: “First-aid knowledge and equipment is vital when it comes to saving lives. We are proud to now be part of this important work in Denmark as well”.
The two original founders, Mark and Anders, commented: “We are very excited to become part of the Presto family and look forward to working closely with our new colleagues to continue delivering world-class first-aid solutions. Our shared goal is to ensure that more people have access to first-aid training and equipment, so that even more lives can be saved”.
